TOPIC: Carrying God to One Another

TEXTS: Galatians 6:2; Romans 15:1–2

A helper does not carry another person’s load because it belongs to him, but because he is willing to make the burden lighter. In the same way, God calls us to support one another through difficult seasons. Sometimes, a kind word, a prayer, a listening ear or practical help may become the means through which someone experiences God’s love.

Galatians 6:2 says, “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” Romans 15:1–2 likewise teaches those who are strong to support the weak and seek their good. Christian maturity is not merely becoming strong for ourselves, but using our strength to strengthen others.

As believers, we are called to carry God to one another by showing Christ’s compassion, patience, kindness and grace. We carry God to others when we pray for them, encourage the discouraged, help those in need, visit the sick or lonely, forgive those who hurt us, listen to those who are struggling and share what we have. Through these simple acts of love and compassion, people can experience God’s presence and care through us. Instead of judging those who struggle, let us help them stand again and become channels through which God’s love reaches others.

Lord, make me a channel of Your love, strength and grace to those around me. Amen.
