SUB-THEME: PRINCIPLES OF UNLIMITED ADVANCEMENT AND ALL-ROUND FRUITFULNESS
TOPIC: ENGAGE IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE
TEXTS: Matthew 11:12; Nehemiah 4:14
A. PREAMBLE.
Let us start with defining Spiritual Warfare.
Spiritual warfare is the practice of praying with spiritual violence to overcome the forces of Satan so that we can enforce the will of God over creation and obtain all that God has freely given us (see 2 Corinthians 10:3-6).
We need to do effective spiritual warfare to achieve unlimited advancement and all-round fruitfulness.
B. DOING EFFECTIVE SPIRITUAL WARFARE.
These strong statements are note-worthy if we must do effective spiritual warfare.
1. God does not just answer prayers, He answers the right prayers.
‘‘You ask and do not receive because you ask amiss… (James 4:3).
2. We need knowledge to do effective spiritual warfare for unlimited advancement and all-round fruitfulness. Prov. 24:5-6.
3. God answers the prayers of the righteous. Psalm, 66:18, 1 Peter 3:12.
4. We need spiritual violence to recover what Satan has stolen from us and to obtain what God has freely given us, Ephesians 1:3, Matthew 11:12, and 2 Peter 1:23.
5. A life of obedience, while we pray, makes the Lord manifest Himself to us. Deuteronomy 5:22–23, John 14:21.
C. CONCLUSION.
It is the will of God that we enjoy unlimited advancement and all-around fruitfulness, but we must engage in effective spiritual warfare to achieve this goal, Deuteronomy 2:24. Though God has good plans for us, we must pray to experience them. Jeremiah 29:11-14.
Prayer: Lord, teach my hands to war and my fingers to fight! (Psalm 144:1).
