TOPIC: God in Our Homes

TEXT: Joshua 24:15; Psalm 127:1

A godly home is not built merely with bricks and mortar but on the firm foundation of God's presence. Joshua boldly declared, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord,” reminding us that every family must intentionally choose to honour God. Likewise, Psalm 127:1 teaches that unless the Lord builds the house, every human effort is ultimately in vain.

Inviting God into our homes means making Him the centre of our decisions, conversations, relationships, and daily routines. A home where God's Word is read, prayers are offered, and love is practised becomes a place of peace, strength, and spiritual growth. Such homes are able to withstand life's challenges because they are anchored in Christ.

In a world where many families face pressure and division, believers are called to build homes marked by faith, forgiveness, mutual respect, and unwavering trust in God. Remember that Jesus is the Light in every home; where He is absent, the family experiences darkness.

When Christ is welcomed into our homes, His presence brings healing, wisdom, unity, and lasting joy that blesses both the family and the generations to come.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we dedicate our homes to You. Be the foundation of our families and the centre of all we do. Fill our homes with Your love, peace, wisdom, and righteousness. Strengthen every relationship, restore every broken home and relationship, and help us to serve You faithfully in one accord. In Jesus' name. Amen.
