TOPIC: The Power to Make a Difference: Holiness and Righteousness

TEXT: Luke 1:73-75

Being holy entails living a life that pleases God, being set apart for a specific purpose, and aiming for purity of heart, mind, and deeds. It is about trying to understand and follow God's will, even when it is difficult.

Being righteous is living by God's rules, acting justly and honestly. It is about acknowledging that God is the ultimate and making an effort to live up to that ideal.

The prophetic blessing of Zechariah in Luke 1:75 highlights the necessity for people to live holy and blameless lives before God for the rest of their lives.

As we live lives that are characterised by holiness and righteousness, we reflect God's love and character on a daily basis and become a beneficial influence in the world. This may entail:

* Standing for Truth: Being honest and truthful, even when it is difficult.

* Showing Kindness and Compassion: Being understanding, empathetic, and willing to assist those in need and those in distress.

* Living with Integrity: Being consistent in our words and actions, maintaining our values, and striving for excellence.

* Serving Others: Utilising our talents and gifts to assist others, positively impacting our communities, and contributing to societal well-being.

* Loving our Neighbours: Treating others with respect, dignity, empathy, and understanding to build positive relationships and foster a positive environment.

Making a difference through holiness and righteousness is about living a life that reflects the character of God, revealing His love and justice in our words, thoughts, and actions. It brings out the best version of ourselves, changing the world for the better, and leaving a loving and helpful legacy for future generations.
