TOPIC: When Fear Knocks

SUB-THEME: GOD WITH US IN HARD TIMES
TOPIC: When Fear Knocks
TEXTS: Isaiah 41:13; Psalm 56:3
The knock of fear is involuntary, and no one can actually prevent it. However, one can decide who or what goes to answer when such a knock comes.
In the journey of life, so many things can trigger fear: perceived threats to life and well-being, danger, uncertainty and the unknown, failure, etc. The good news is that God has provided an antidote for such situations.
“For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.” — Isaiah 41:13 KJV
The consciousness that God is beside you, holding your hand and assuring you of His help releases the faith that expels every fear.
An adage says, “Fear knocked at the door. Faith answered. And there was no one there.”
In faith, the Psalmist exclaimed:
“What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.” — Psalm 56:3
Beloved, give no place to fear. Instead of letting panic dictate your reality, put your trust in God and invite His presence to answer the door on your behalf.
The only thing worth fearing is navigating through the journey of life without God’s presence. Moses realised this when he insisted:
“If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.” — Exodus 33:15
Fix your gaze on God’s Word, His unfailing promises and assurances, and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will caress your mind and soul.
Prayer: Receive grace to trust in God and His promises. May the Lord stand at the doorway of your life to answer every fear that knocks, and may His peace be your shield, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
