SUB-THEME: Walking Daily With Immanuel
TOPIC: God in My Everyday Life
TEXTS: Colossians 3:17; Proverbs 16:3
Many people check their phones first thing in the morning to see messages and updates. How much better our day can be when we first seek God's guidance through prayer and His Word. When we begin the day with Him, we become more aware of His presence and direction in all we do.
The name Immanuel reminds us of God's constant presence with His people. God is not only with us during special moments of worship or times of crisis; He desires to be involved in every aspect of our daily lives. As we walk with Immanuel, we learn to acknowledge Him in our thoughts, decisions, relationships, work, and service.
Colossians 3:17 teaches that whatever we do, whether in word or deed, should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God through Him. This means that our everyday activities can become acts of worship when they are done with the right attitude and for God's glory. From our homes to our workplaces, schools, and communities, we are called to reflect Christ in all we do.
Proverbs 16:3 encourages us to commit our works to the Lord. When we place our plans, goals, and responsibilities in God's hands, He directs our paths and establishes our thoughts. Walking daily with Immanuel requires dependence on God, seeking His guidance through prayer, and trusting Him with the outcomes of our efforts.
As believers, we must cultivate an awareness of God's presence each day. By spending time in His Word, praying regularly, and obeying His leading, we can experience the joy and peace that come from knowing that God is with us in every situation.
Reflection:
How conscious am I of God's presence in my daily activities? Do I commit my plans and decisions to Him, and does my lifestyle bring glory to Christ?
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for being Immanuel, God with us. Help me to recognize Your presence in every area of my life. Teach me to commit all my plans and actions to You, so that everything I do may bring glory to Your name. Amen.
