SUBTHEME: WHERE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

TOPIC: Making A Difference in a Crooked and Perverse World

TEXT: Isaiah 49:6; Philippians 2:15

We live in a time when truth is often twisted, morality is questioned, and righteousness is mocked. This is what Scripture describes as a "crooked and perverse generation"—a world out of alignment with God's design. Yet, God expects us to respond to such darkness with purpose, not despair.

In Isaiah 49:6, God declares that it is too small a thing for His servant to restore only the tribes of Jacob. Instead, He appoints him “as a light to the nations”, carrying salvation to the ends of the earth. This same call extends to every believer.

Philippians 2:15 exhorts us to live as children of God without fault, “in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation”, shining as lights in the world. We are not called to conform but to transform. Making a difference begins with personal holiness, integrity, love, and truth. It is found in daily choices—speaking kindly when others are harsh, acting justly in unfair situations, and holding onto faith when others lose hope.

True impact does not always come through loud declarations but through quiet faithfulness. We shine not by striving for attention but by reflecting Christ. In a dark world, even a single light is powerful. How much more when many lights shine together.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, make me a light in my little corner.
