SUB-THEME: Walking Daily With Immanuel

TOPIC: Practicing God’s Presence

TEXTS: Psalm 16:8; Matthew 28:20

Psalm 16:8 says, “I have set the Lord always before me: because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” Also, in Matthew 28:20, Jesus assured us saying, “…and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Practicing God’s presence means living every day with the consciousness that God is with us at all times. It is learning to walk, speak, think, work, and make decisions with the awareness that the Lord is near. Many believers remember God only during prayers, church services, or difficult moments, but God desires fellowship with us continually.

David understood this secret when he declared that he had set the Lord always before him. Because he carried the awareness of God’s presence, he remained confident and unshaken even in difficult situations. Likewise, Jesus promised never to leave us alone. His presence is not occasional; it is constant.

When we practice God’s presence daily, our lives begin to reflect His character. We become more careful in our words, thoughts, and actions. Fear, anxiety, and loneliness lose their power because we know God is with us. His presence also brings guidance, strength, peace, and joy.

To practice God’s presence, we must develop a lifestyle of prayer, meditation on God’s Word, worship, and obedience. We should talk to God throughout the day and intentionally acknowledge Him in everything we do. The more conscious we are of His presence, the closer our walk with Him becomes.

May we daily walk with the consciousness that Immanuel — “God with us” — is always by our side.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, help me to live every day with the awareness of Your presence. Teach me to walk closely with You, to depend on You, and to acknowledge You in all I do. Let Your presence guide, strengthen, and comfort me daily. Amen.
