UNDERSTANDING THE CONCEPT OF UNLIMITED ADVANCEMENT
Job 22:19; Psalms 1:3; Jeremiah 17:8
The word "advancement," according to the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary, is the process of helping something or someone to make progress or to succeed. The synonyms include growth, gain, improvement, profit, and benefit.
"Unlimited," on the other hand, means having no limit in any way and having as many or as much as possible. The synonyms include measureless, unbounded, unrestricted, unconstrained, and limitless.
The concept of "unlimited advancement" connotes a life of progress, forward movement, continuous improvement, promotion from one level to the next, making gains, and succeeding in every area of human endeavour, despite obvious challenges, obstacles, and oppositions.
God is interested in the advancement and progress of his children. He hates stagnation and a retrogressive life. That was why, after creating man and woman, He blessed them and commanded them to "Be fruitful, and multiply, fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground"( Genesis 1:28 NLT).
We are assured by the scripture in this year's theme that the believers "shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green, and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit" (Jeremiah 17:8 KJV).
Also,"He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doth shall prosper"( Psalms 1:3 KJV).
God has designed this year for us as a year of unlimited advancement. No matter the oppositions, challenges, and obstacles, we shall surely advance, make progress, and have victory. As the Red Sea did not limit the children of Israel from crossing over to the Promised Land, so nothing shall limit us this year.
The theme requires us to banish fear, take a step of faith, and build confidence in God the Almighty, and all the forces and powers of the enemy shall give way, and we shall have a limitless advancement to the glory of God, in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
